September is ending, returning Paulies have settled back in at their favorite study nooks and carrels, and new Paulies are developing their own homework rituals. With the transition back to an academic mindset almost fully complete, some students are already asking about AP resources at the library information desk. Sooo, back by – if not popular, then certainly present – demand, here is the AP English Literature and Composition Exam spreadsheet (linked here) of ALL the books that have appeared in the free response question between 2011-2025.
Students who are hoping to take the AP English Literature and Composition Exam in May of 2026 may use this spreadsheet to see the titles and authors most used by the AP Exam, as well as a list of recommended reads from the Ohrstrom librarians. We have also updated the AP reading lists for both the physical collection and Sora ebooks and audiobooks to help you easily find these texts. If you need any help accessing a title from the list, please stop by the information desk to speak with a librarian. The library team wishes students the best as they begin their AP exam prep!
Trying to sniff out a read with less “old-book-smell” than a Dickens, Hardy, or Shakespeare text? The list of books below offers AP exam reading suggestions with a more recent publication date!
