DESCRIPTION:Students are welcome to a poetry workshop with Safia Elhillo in the Baker Reading Room. Pizza will be served. \nIn addition to her lunch workshop\, Safia will speak to the entire student body at Chapel and meet with classes. Safia is the author of The January Children (University of Nebraska Press 2017) and a contributor to Poetry Magazine and numerous anthologies. She is a Pushcart Prize nominee\, receiving a special mention for the 2016 Pushcart Prize\, and recipient of the 2015 Brunel University African Poetry Prize and the 2016 Sillerman First Book Prize for African Poets.
