The Library subscribes to several online databases that may be useful for your research project. Click HERE and select the appropriate database from the Database list. The following databases are recommended for the Renaissance Artist project:

  • Oxford Art Online – Use this database to search the full-text of The Grove Dictionary of Art, The Oxford Companion to Western Art, Encyclopedia of Aesthetics, The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms and image files.
  • ProQuest Direct – Use this database to locate journal, magazine and newspaper articles printed within the last 25 years.
  • JSTOR – Use this database to locate scholarly journal articles printed within the last 100+ years.
  • ARTStor – Use this database to locate images.
    • ARTstor Tip:  After opening an image, use the magnifying glass tool to enlarge any given section of an image.  To save the enlargement detail, click on the floppy disc icon and save as a jpg.
