Y. for almost 45 years. He was born in Malden, Mass, on July 27, 1867 and attended Williams previous to the study of law at Columbia. For a time he practised law in his father&#8217;s office in New York City before making his permanent home in Canton. On the maternal side, he was a descendant of that Lieutenant James Lawrence who in the battle of Lake Erie in the War of 1812 voiced the historic slogan, &#8220;Don&#8217;t give up the ship.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lawrence Russell attended St. Paul&#8217;s School from 1882 to 1885 and is a member of the Form of 1885.
