{"id":748,"date":"2011-03-01T20:01:11","date_gmt":"2011-03-01T20:01:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ohrstromblog.com\/spsarchives\/?p=748"},"modified":"2011-10-15T01:08:39","modified_gmt":"2011-10-15T01:08:39","slug":"form-plaque-1860","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.ohrstromblog.com\/spsarchives\/archives\/748","title":{"rendered":"Form Plaque: 1860"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This photo is of the Form plaque carving for 1860 on display in the Coit Upper Dining Hall that was completed by woodcarver John Gregory Wiggins sometime between November of 1922 and May of 1923.<\/p>\n<p>The following description of the design was written by Wiggins in the June 7, 1923 edition of the <em>Horae Scholasticae<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In the right- and left-hand corners of the shield are the sixteen-petalled chrysanthemums, the royal Japanese crest.\u00a0 During this period the first embassy from that country came to the U.
