{"id":755,"date":"2011-03-01T20:14:53","date_gmt":"2011-03-01T20:14:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ohrstromblog.com\/spsarchives\/?p=755"},"modified":"2011-12-07T18:05:47","modified_gmt":"2011-12-07T18:05:47","slug":"form-plaque-1867","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.ohrstromblog.com\/spsarchives\/archives\/755","title":{"rendered":"Form Plaque: 1867"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This photo is of the Form plaque carving for 1867 on display in the Coit Upper Dining Hall that was completed by woodcarver John Gregory Wiggins sometime between November of 1922 and May of 1923.<\/p>\n<p>The following description of the design was written by Wiggins in the June 7, 1923 edition of the <em>Horae Scholasticae<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This panel shows &#8220;Old Number 3&#8221; with the carpenters shingling the roof.\u00a0 This year was excessively dry and water had to be brought to the School.\u00a0 Lower left shows a farmer carrying buckets of water.\u00a0 The old Smithy was torn down.\u00a0\u00a0 The lower right shows a blacksmith at work.\u00a0 This year a certain M.
