March is Women’s History Month! It’s a time to celebrate the contributions and influence of women on the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. It is also the perfect time to discuss some of the challenges that women have faced, and continue to face, every day. This week, Ms. Yarborough is highlighting the contributions of women in healthcare and how these contributions influenced or were influenced by the gender health gap.
“Health gap is a term used to address disparities in healthcare, from the social stigma placed on healthcare needs, to the lack of representation in healthcare and medical research, to the taxes and fees placed on necessary healthcare items. To learn more about the health gap, check out our display on the lower level of Ohrstrom Library or click HERE for a list of ebooks and audiobooks that you can access through Sora anytime.”
