Dear Encounters,
Great to see you this week! Here is the direct link to your research guide. Thanks for the excellent analogies and helpful search suggestions. I love Lily’s ’16 analogy comparing a concordance to the Control + F feature for the Bible. Thanks Rita ’16 for suggesting we search JSTOR for our specific biblical passage.

Encounters Research
Explicating Mark, Matthew or Job? Consider using the digitized The New Interpreter’s Bible available from the library’s Ministry Matters collection. (Ministry Matters is a collection of digitized Christian religious texts to support of religious researchers and practitioners.) Use The New Interpreter’s Bible to locate historical and social context for, and commentary on: Matthew Mark Job Statue Of St. Mark (detail Of The Hands), Torcello, Venice. Photography. Encounters Explication
Working on the Encounters Explication project? Newly updated is the library’s research guide created for this assignment. The updates include: A new page in the guide dedicated to Ministry Matters, a divinity school product purchased by the library in March 2014, for this assignment. A new page in the guide dedicated to researching and explicating a section of the Quran, highlighting the library’s Oxford Islamic Studies eCollection. Improvements? Need more? Let me know! 🙂 lsanborn at sps dot edu Image credit: Statue Of St. Mark (detail Of The Hands), Torcello, Venice. Photography. Encyclopædia Britannica ImageQuest.
