    Now on the Ohrstrom Library site is a new research guide in support of the Latin II students investigating aspects of religion in Ancient Rome. Spotlight on: The Reference Material tab, featuring digital selections related to Ancient Roman life and religion.   Research guides gather together the most pertinent library resources for a specific project, from the larger (and ever-expanding) universe of Library sources/collections.     In the News: St. Paul’s Epistles – App

    The University of Michigan has created an app for iOS devices.  The app allows users to view the 30 physical leaves of the Epistles of St. Paul now owned and cared for by the University of Michigan. As reported by annarbor.com: Thirty of the rarest, earliest leaves of the Epistles of St. Paul, dating from 180 to 220 AD, have been digitized and turned into an interactive app usable on iPhones and iPads. “What’s especially important is the direct experience with the ancient world,” Arthur Verhoogt, acting archivist of the library’s papyrology collection, said of the app, called PictureIt: EP. “History is nice to read about but it’s much more…

    New Reference Book: The New Strong’s Expanded Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible

    The New Strong’s Expanded Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible by James Strong, Thomas Nelson Publishers, 2010. Find it in Ohrstrom at: REF 220.2 ST8N A classic Bible concordance. Concordance, what is it? A concordance is an alphabetical list of the words in a work, or body of work, often with a citation back to the occurrence(s). Concordance, how do I use it? Locate the desired word alphabetically.  Review the context line for Book, Chapter, Verse location(s) of the word.  If needed, consult the New Testament to locate the original passage.   Helpful for: Encounters, Bible Study, Religious Studies, Humanities
